Importing nThai(z)
The installation of language pack is easy with just few steps. I wrote this mainly for beginner, less experience in administrative task. For advanced user/admin you can skip this.
To install language pack for all version of Invision Power Board is quite the same. Not much difference between 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 series. This instruction apply to all version of IPB and nThai(z).
Requirements
- A version of nThai(z) that fit to your IPB, if you don’t have you can download here.
- The folder ‘cache/lang_cache/’ must be writeable (CMOD or change file attributes to 777 for Unix and Linux server or give write permission via web control -like Plesk or Cpanel- for Windows server). This must be done before import langauge set.
- Your favorite web browser, absolutely!
- FTP client (e.g. FlashFXP or FileZilla) — this is optional but may needed in some cases.
Installation
- Assuming that you are in Admin CP, click on ‘LOOK & FEEL’ tab
- Under ‘Languages’ menu on left side click on ‘Import a Language’

- Now you are ready to import, you have 2 choice, use only one method you like:
- Upload XML language file directly (under Language Pack Import page) from your computer. Click on “Browse..” and browse to where you keep your ‘nthaiz_language.xml.gz’, then select the file.
OR - Upload ‘nthaiz_language.xml.gz’ to root forum (where index.php and admin.php) with your FTP client. Type file name ‘nthaiz_language.xml.gz’ in “OR enter the filename of the XML language file” field.
- Upload XML language file directly (under Language Pack Import page) from your computer. Click on “Browse..” and browse to where you keep your ‘nthaiz_language.xml.gz’, then select the file.
- Type ‘nThaiz‘ in “Enter the name for this new language set” field.
- Click on ‘Import XML language set’
- (Optional but recommended) use your FTP client access to new created folder “cache/lang_cache/nthaiz” (or other name created by system). Replace all files there with all files that come with nThai(z) pack you have download (in ‘nthaiz20′ folder or other name). This step to ensure that not thing will go wrong with your importing.
- That’s all!
